Jingzhou brings in German-funded Project in effort to expand cooperation with Europe

On November 22, the 3rd China-Nordic Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum & Fortune 500 Dialogue with Hubei opened in Wuhan, Hubei Province. Jin Peng, Vice Mayor of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government, led a delegation to the event. At the opening ceremony, Jingzhou Economic & Technological Development Zone (JETDZ) signed an agreement with Linde Group on the project of Linde Greater China Jingzhou Industrial Gas Production Base with an investment of 500 million yuan. In the event, Jingzhou negotiated and held a seminar with enterprises among Fortune Global 500 and renowned international institutions. 

Attended by officials from embassies of Nordic countries and other countries in China, as well as senior executives of companies among Fortune Global 500, well-known multinational corporations, China's top 500 enterprises and top 500 private enterprises, the event aimed to guide European-funded enterprises, companies among Fortune Global 500 and multinational corporations in grounding their efforts in the new development stage, integrating themselves into the new development pattern, taking active part in the construction of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and a national pilot area for the creation of a new development pattern, acquiring a further understanding of Hubei, negotiating with cities and prefectures in Hubei, and deepening the level of Hubei's cooperation with companies among Fortune Global 500 and multinational corporations. Senior executives of Valeo Automotive Air Conditioning Hubei Co., Ltd. were invited to introduce the process of its steady growth in Jingzhou as a multinational corporation. Zhu Lei, Senior Commercial Director of Linde Group, said in an interview after the signing ceremony, that she was positive about the future of Hubei and Jingzhou, She hoped the two sides would work together to achieve win-win in Jingzhou that has a superior environment and a grand gathering of industries.

In recent years, Jingzhou has created a favorable environment for China-Europe cooperation. In December 2020, Jingzhou started the construction of "China-Europe Industrial Park", with a planned total area of 3,730.5 mu. With a focus on developing into a new highland for opening-up and a new engine for foreign trade development, the upcoming comprehensive bonded zone in JETDZ will go all out to foster a new development pattern that features positive interplay between domestic and international economic flows. This year, China-Europe Block Train (Yangtze River) - Jingzhou Special was launched at Yanka Port, which will further reduce the comprehensive logistics costs of local enterprises, improve the efficiency of cargo transport and turnover, and better help Jingzhou's products reach the world. Jingzhou has brought in European enterprises such as Valeo (France), Reckitt Benckiser (UK), Vast (US-Germany), Royal DSM and Philips (Netherlands).
